Pre-live Adwords checklist

  1. Think up broad keywords based on product/service.
  2. Enter broad keywords into Google Adwords Keyword Suggestions Tool
    • Find other broad keywords using the synonyms tool
  3. Build landing pages based on these terms
    • the more the better, for a higher quality score
  4. Create Ad campaigns in Adwords account
    • Don’t turn ads on yet
    • Use exact or phrase match on all keywords
    • Add negative keywords and make a note of any that apply to all campaigns in Ad Group
    • Make sure quality scores are great at least to begin with to get a kick start in early performance
  5. In Adwords account:
    • Turn off content network until ads are optimised via split testing
    • Choose time settings for ads to appear at appropriate times
